
TrueWide Sliding Back Camera

The Kapture Group TrueWide Digital sliding back camera is available in several 35mm lens mounts. Mounts include Nikon F, Canon FD, Leica R, Olympus and Contax. The included digital back interface plate is available in Hasselblad-V, Mamiya 645AFD or Contax 645 mount. The 3 mounting options are designed to attach your digital back in either the portrait or landscape orientation.
Applications and Options:
The photo to the right was shot at Photokina 2000 using the TrueWide Sliding Back Camera and a Nikon 28mm shift lens. It was a 2 capture shot stitched together manually in Photoshop. For the first shot the lens was shifted all the way down. For the second shot the lens was rotated 180 degrees or shifted all the way up. The current PhotoShop CS3 will do the 16 bit stitching for you automatically using the photomerge feature.

The bright focusing screen slides into place for precision focusing and depth of field preview. Your digital back then slides into place for image capture. Both the focus and capture positions have positive detent. The TrueWide lens mount rotates 90 degrees to accommodate vertical shots with ultra wide-angle lenses without having to change the camera's orientation. Positive detents hold your lens firmly in place after rotation. The TrueWide is truly a precision instrument for studio and location photography. Combine the TrueWide with various wide-angle shift lenses or even the Micro-Nikkor 85mm f2.8 tilt shift and you've got instant view camera performance.
